In the small oceanside town of Crescent Moon Bay there is a legend. A man cursed a chair and now those who sit in it are fated to die an untimely death. Some believe it and some don't, but it can't be denied that some things are too true to be mere coincidence. After sitting in the chair, Simon is in fear for his life. Will the characters help him? Or leave him to his fate...

The Chair is a system agnostic adventure that was intended for Fantasy, but could honestly be adapted to pretty much any genre with little adjustment. Presented is some backstory on a town and some people, and shops, in the area. It may be up to the GM to add additional details, or the adventure could easily be dropped in a town already in a campaign by simply including the listed locations and situations.

How the adventure could go has quite a few possibilities. Situations are presented but the order in which they occur, exactly how they come about, and how the players choose to interact with them will change how the story goes in a wide variety of ways. Presented is a few ideas and options to illustrate possibilities, but how the narrative unfolds will be up to the group. The Chair is suitable for a one-shot or as a side quest in a larger campaign.

The story was inspired loosely by the historical superstition around Busby's Stoop Chair, which you can read about on Wikipedia: here
