Bullets in the Jungle (Roll Up! System)
A downloadable game
In Bullets in the Jungle, characters take on the roles of an elite team of soldiers marching into the jungle to take out an alien threat. The game pits them against difficult odds, can they take out the monster before it wreaks havoc on Earth and takes countless lives?
Using the Roll Up! system, Bullets in the Jungle is themed after 1980s monster action movies. Roll Up! is a pretty quick system to learn and all you need is a single D6 to play (although having a few would be handy). Roll Up! is a system by Hugh Lashbrooke and you can learn about it, and how to use it to make your own games: here.
Note: With any tabletop roleplaying game it is essential to make sure all players know what to expect as far as violence, gore, situations, or any other type of content in the game. Defining the game as something like PG, PG-13, or R in rating, and maybe giving some examples of books or movies with similar types of content can be an easy way to start the conversation.
Using something like an X Card is a useful tool, especially if playing with others you've not played with too often, newer players, or even when trying a different game from what the table is used to. Even though everyone may be great friends, things can surface unexpectedly and having a tool like an X Card around is easy to do. If it comes in handy even once, it is worth it and can help everyone at the table have a better experience. Printable X Card available: here.

Very cool. Looks fun. You packed a lot into a single printed page!
I like how the stats are randomly generated for the characters, but then the bonus mechanic naturally balances bad rolls – that's a clever mechanic. And the vibe/theme of the game is a lot of fun.
Cool. I'm glad you like it. That mechanic is straight out of Roll Up! and I agree, that is a clever feature. So simple, yet a great balancing idea. Thank you!
