Legends in the Lands is a simple system for playing tabletop RPGs in a fantasy setting. It is reminiscent in some ways of some popular games, but leaves a good amount of openness for GMs and players to get creative and coordinate how they want games to go.

You'll find a pamphlet sized set of rules here to use as a framework for running a game in whatever fantasy world you choose. Get creative and improvise, and have fun.

It's true that this document is free of bells and whistles, but you may find it to be some useful fun content. In the future, I may do up a version in a different format. I hoped to contain as much info on a single front/back page for handy usefulness with this doc.

I will likely do some updates as I come up with ideas, including a character sheet and monster entries.

UPDATE

You will find two versions of nearly the same material here. One is set up to be printed in a one page, front and back, format that can be folded like a pamphlet. The other is A5 and spaced out for easy reading, 14 pages. Note that the A5 version has a few more details, including the options for Leveling Up characters.

Third Party Content

If you want to create your own content for Legends in the Lands, just include the following text in the description:

"Based on Legends in the Lands by Jason Renslow. [INSERT NAME HERE] is an independent work compatible with Legends in the Lands but not affiliated with Jason Renslow."

What you absolutely cannot do is make content for Legends in the Lands that promotes racism, fascism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc.

(PS I borrowed the Third Party Content language from HyveMynd)

I love how dicey this is! It's all counter-rolling and looks really cool. I'd love to try it some time.

Thanks. That means a lot. Let me know how it goes, if you end up having a sesh.
